Construction lifts are divided into dual-use lifts and cargo lifts. Commonly known as "gantry and derrick
Material Hoist" is a
Cargo Lift.
1. Dual-purpose elevator for people and goods
1. The dual-purpose elevator has a completely enclosed cage. It can transport goods and personnel. Commonly used dual-purpose lifts can be divided into the following types according to the driving type of their cages:
1.1 Rack-and-pinion lift for both people and goods;
1.2 Wire rope type lift for both people and goods driven by drum (hoist);
1.3 Wire rope type lifts for people and goods driven by traction sheave (traction machine) (ie, traction type lifts for people and goods).

2. Cargo lifts
The carrying device of the cargo lift can only be equipped with side walls and does not have to be completely enclosed. During normal operation, it can only carry goods but not people. Cargo lifts can be divided into:
1. Cargo lifts that can be entered by the carrying device
2. Inclined cargo lifts that cannot be entered
1.1 Dual-purpose lifts for people and goods whose carrying device can enter
A cargo lift with access to a carrying device means that a person who meets the following conditions can enter the carrying device under the following circumstances:
- During loading and unloading. Allow trained personnel to enter the carrier;
- During installation, disassembly, maintenance or inspection, authorized personnel are allowed to enter and operate the carrier if permitted by the manufacturer's instructions for use.
2. Commonly used cargo lifts that can be entered by carrying devices can be divided into the following types according to the driving type of their carrying devices:
Rack and pinion cargo lift
Wire rope cargo lift driven by drum (hoist)
A steel wire rope cargo lift (that is, a traction cargo lift) driven by a traction sheave (traction machine).
2.1 Inclined cargo lifts with inaccessible vehicles
The carrying device of the inclined cargo lift where the carrying device cannot be entered is driven by a wire rope drum (hoist). The maximum rated load of the carrying device is 300 kg and the maximum speed is 1.00 m/s. Personnel are prohibited from stepping into the carrying device at any time; Its rails need to be supported by a separate structure, with an upper landing or an unloading work area (eg on the roof).
